Now It’s Up to the House
By Däna Wilkinson, Attorney at Law on Apr 8, 2008 in Mortgage Reform
We’ve seen the Senate punk on bankruptcy reform that would actually help consumers and the economy, we’ve seen the President’s largely useless, fox-in-charge-of-the-henhouse Hope Now program. This week the House takes up the foreclosure crisis and its affect on the economy at large.
The House is expected to craft its own bill and not simply follow the Senate’s lead. In addition, House leaders have indicated they might also pursue proposals to address other problems in the economy – a move that could complicate speedy approval of any foreclosure provisions.
Oh, goody. (Pardon me, my cynicism is showing.) It would be nice to see something that actually helps real people. Hope (unlike Hope Now) springs eternal.
