April Charney Receives Global Attention on Drudge Report

April Charney, a nationally-recognized consumer advocate known for her outspoken attack of the excesses of mortgage securitization, received a slice of the global spotlight on Sunday when Matthew Drudge linked his site to an article running running at the TimesOnline(UK) detailing Ms. Charney’s fight on behalf of homeowners against Habitat for Humanity for selling homes characterized by sub-standard construction and a multitude of other habitability issues. At left is a screen image of the link as it appeared on the Drudge Report as of the time of ths post. The TimesOnline article is dated January 4, 2009 and is entitled “Charity Homes Built by Hollywood Start to Crumble.”
